Diversity in Dance Scholarship Fund

In recognition of the fact that dancers of color face more obstacles in their pursuit of a career in ballet, resulting in an underrepresentation of dancers of color within professional ballet companies, Lines Vermont has established a Diversity in Dance Scholarship Fund. This fund is intended to create more access to ballet for young dancers of color, with the overall goal of addressing the lack of diversity in the ballet world.

The scholarship is designed for dancers who identify as BIPOC between the ages of 5 and 19 who express a commitment to excelling in ballet and require financial assistance to do so. It may be used to cover 100% of the cost of ballet classes at Lines Vermont, including both regularly scheduled drop-in classes and master classes/workshops. In addition, sponsored dancers will be outfitted for class by the Lines Store.

To apply for funding, please fill out the form below.

If you’d like to support the Diversity in Dance Scholarship Fund, you can sponsor the program and dancers by making a contribution to the fund. Please note that contributions will not be tax deductible, as Lines is not a 501(c)(3). But, you will have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve given wings to the dreams of an aspiring young dancer.
